In the second episode of our podcast Art & Market Conversations, A&M Editor Nadya speaks with Patrick Flores, Artistic Director of Singapore Biennale 2019, themed ‘Every Step in the Right Direction’. Patrick is also Professor of Art Studies at the Department of Art Studies at the University of the Philippines and Curator of the Vargas Museum in Manila. 

In this conversation, they discuss how biennales can both educate and entertain, the simultaneous importance and difficulty of being critical about art in the region, and the need to expand Southeast Asia as a framework in curating and writing.
