A Studio of One’s Own: Chow & Lin
In June 2020, DECK launched an online series featuring Southeast Artists in their pandemic journey and how they have adapted to sustain their practice during precarious times. Led by guest curator John Tung, the fourth episode of their second season features Singapore/Malaysia artists Chow & Lin. The internationally renowned duo will speak about their statistical method in photography, including their photography book ‘The Poverty Line’. In a study of 36 countries, the book uses food to emphatically envision the daily choices individuals have to make when facing poverty.

Protest Under Pandemic!
In collaboration with Green Papaya Art Projects, the Transnational Coalition for the Arts will be having a webinar titled ‘Protest Under Pandemic!’. The Zoom discussion aims to explore the civil injustices that have emerged in Southeast Asia since the beginning of the pandemic. Organisers from Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Myanmar will speak on the different protests in the region.

ART SG X UBS Discussion Series: Southeast Asia on the Global Art Map
ART SG and UBS Global Art to present the second talk in their discussion series ‘Southeast Asia on the Global Art Map’. Aaron Seeto from Museum MACAN (ID), Jam Acuzar from Bellas Arts Projects (PH), Valentine Willie from ILHAM Gallery (MY) and Gridthiya Gaweewong from Jim Thompson Art Center (TH), all prominent art practitioners at the forefront of the artistic network in Southeast Asia, will spotlight the current art trends, shifts and experimentations in the region.

Southeast Asian Arts Forum 2021
The Institute of Southeast Asian Arts at NAFA, Singapore will have the second iteration of the Southeast Asian Arts Forum this year. The event will see art educators and practitioners in a series of performances, presentations and discussions that dissect the contemporary state of the Southeast Asian art ecosystem. The three-day hybrid forum  acts as a site of cultural exchange and practice-led teaching, including a live presentation by Bali artist Aji Bayuaji and a dialogue with Director of Suma Orientalis Sophia Shung.

Time Capsule: A Collision in Thai Contemporary Art in the 80’s
In conjunction with the solo exhibition ‘The Tenebrous Spiral Staircase of the—’ by Chitti Kasemkitvatana, Gallery VER presents an online talk ‘Time Capsule: A Collision in Thai Contemporary Art in the 80’s’. Thai art experts Kamol Phaosavasdi, Phatarawadee ‘Ann’ Phataranawik, and Pojai Akratanakul will engage in a discussion of art as an archive of history. The webinar will reflect on the political events that inspired Kasemkitvatana’s work which applies the power dynamics of Thailand’s historical past to the current socio-political landscape.

Art Discusses the Anthropocene: คืนชีวิต คิดเผื่อธรรมชาติ
’Art Discusses the Anthropocene’ is a video series launched by Warin Lab Contemporary, Bangkok. The series aims to spotlight the intersection where art and science meets, exploring how art can answer the urgent calls of the global climate crisis. The first episode joins together President of the Green World Foundation Dr. Boripat Siriaroonrat, fish expert Dr. Chavalit Vidthayanon, and Thai artist Ruangsak Anuwatwimon in a dialogue about fish conversation in Nakorn Nayok.
