Anthony Burgess: Little Wilson and Big God
This is the first volume of Anthony Burgess’s autobiography, which narrates his time as a teacher and education officer in Malaya and Borneo. Spanning over 40 years, it details candid episodes such as how he was seduced at the age of nine by an older woman, the time he was thrown into jail, and his tussles with the locals and the British Council at the time. Written in the author’s signature satirical and witty style, the book won the J. R. Ackerley Prize for Autobiography in 1988.
This is a second edition from the private collection of Robert Yeo. The publication bears inscriptions by Yeo on the inside cover.
