Han Suyin: A Many Splendoured Thing
‘A Many-Splendoured Thing’ is semi-autobiographical romantic novel written by Han Suyin in 1952. Set in Hong Kong between 1949 and 1950, it tells the story of a married British foreign correspondent who falls in love with a Eurasian doctor who was originally from China. The book was made into an American drama film in 1955 and inspired a popular song titled ‘Love is a Many-Splendoured Thing’.
This is a first edition from the private collection of Robert Yeo. The publication bears Yeo’s signature and inscriptions on the inside cover.
