Art OnO returns for its third edition from 3 to 5 April 2026, at SETEC in Seoul. The boutique fair brings together 26 galleries from around the world, including regions that have been less represented within the Asian art fair circuit such as Romania, Finland, and Tanzania. A defining feature of Art OnO 2026 is the participation of eight non-profit art institutions. They include public museums such as Jeonnam Museum of Art and Suwon Museum of Art, as well as private institutions like SONGEUN, Chapter II, and fibre/áunn museum.

Fair Director JaeMyung Noh aims for Art OnO to be more than a marketplace, but a platform that brings commercial and institutional art circles closer together. “While they have different roles, I believe they need to be more connected and in dialogue with each other,” he shares. “The presence of museums and non-profit spaces changes the rhythm of the fair. It creates a contrast that allows visitors to engage from multiple perspectives.” The choice of institutional partners reflects a diversity of approaches and artists from different stages in their careers. Jeonnam Museum of Art is showcasing works by Gwon Seungchan, Eko Nugroho, and Maryanto, connecting Southeast Asian and Korean perspectives on the relationship between politics and environment. Suwon Museum of Art is presenting a selection of key works from its collection, including One Minute Sculptures by Austrian sculptor Erwin Wurm who had a major solo exhibition at the museum in 2022.

Ahead of the opening, we speak with five participating galleries to find out about the artworks they are bringing to Art OnO 2026.

TUCK BANGKOK is participating in Art OnO for the first time, with a duo presentation by its Founder,  artist Tuck Muntarbhorn alongside Austrian painter Wolfgang Walkensteiner. Muntarbhorn is showing textile work made using fabrics from his mother’s atelier; and the soft language is carried through with a group of Walkensteiner’s cut-out paintings. “The name TUCK BANGKOK derived from a Thai phrase meaning ‘to greet Bangkok’,” Muntarbhorn explains. “Our presence at Art OnO continues this gesture, extending a greeting from Bangkok to Seoul.” He sees this as an opportunity to contribute to a larger cultural conversation, where the centre of gravity is increasingly pivoting to Asia.

Finish gallery Makasiini Contemporary is a newcomer to Art OnO. Founder Frej Forsblom mentions that the fair was recommended by their Korean-American artists and that they were eventually invited to participate. “We look forward to showcasing our artists to the Korean public and seeing their responses,” he adds. Their presentation reflects the gallery’s programme of international and Finnish artists, including Daniel Arsham, Jorge Galindo, Rafa Macarrón, and Roope Itälinna.

Galerie Zink, which is located in Waldkirchen, Germany, has participated in the past two editions of the fair. The gallery’s booth spotlights eight artists at varying stages of their careers. Among them are Erkan Özgen and Thao Nguyen Phan, whose works have been exhibited at major Korean institutions. Founder Michael Zink emphasises how Art OnO stands apart in the vast landscape of international art fairs. “Art OnO is built on the thrill of discovery,” he explains. “No other fair carries this degree of intimacy and intentionality. Here, we find a young, intellectually curious, and genuinely open audience.” For Zink, the quality of collector engagement makes the long journey from Germany a worthwhile endeavour.

Basel-based Nicolas Krupp Gallery is featuring Nam Kim, Matthew Antezzo, and Monica Studer & Christoph van den Berg. The respective artists bring a distinct approach to image making, such as narrative figuration, appropriation, and AI-based processes respectively. Notably, Kim opened the gallery’s programme for the year with her solo exhibition The world is a forest (2026), while Monica Studer & Christoph van den Berg’s exhibition HALLUC (2026) is currently on view. The duo is also participating in a panel discussion during the fair.

ARARIO GALLERY, which has spaces in Seoul, Shanghai, and Cheonan, is bringing works by 11 artists from Korea and Japan. They include Cha Hyeonwook, Lim Nosik, Kohei Nawa, and Kang Cheolgyu, who is having a solo exhibition at ARARIO GALLERY SEOUL in May 2026. Executive Director Sojung Kang cites a close alignment between the fair’s goals and the gallery’s programme as a key factor in their decision to return. “Art OnO is a fair distinguished by its strong curatorial direction and its focus on galleries that are committed to discovering and fostering emerging and mid-career artists,” she remarks. “As a result, it has established itself as a platform where collectors can encounter a thoughtful selection of noteworthy artists each year.”

In his writings and commissioned texts, he hopes to highlight the regional and international connections that sustain art ecosystems.
