A&M is four!

A&M’s anniversary
By A&M

A&M is turning four this month! The team looks back at the past year and selects their favourite stories to share.

Ian’s pick: My Own Words: Why Do Artists Curate?

I chose this essay as it is a personal example of my roles as artist, curator and writer intersecting. Looking ahead to A&M’s fifth year, I hope the platform becomes a space for different interest groups to come together and find common ground in the language of art.

Vivyan’s pick : ‘Bread Crumbs’ at Richard Koh Fine Art

I have fond memories writing this review as I could deeply appreciate the practices of two Malaysian artists and how they interact with each other in an exhibition space. At A&M, I look forward to meeting more emerging practitioners who may have been under the radar.

Nabila’s pick: My Own Words: Is There More to Conservation?

This essay is my favourite because it describes how challenging it is to be a conservator, they not only have to understand the materials they work with, but also explain the risk of conservation to clients. It makes me appreciate their job more now. For A&M, I wish the platform continues to thrive and able to provide insightful content & events to our audience.

Nadya’s pick: Art X Food: A&M Salon at Appetite

A&M is built on collaborations, and the A&M Salon Art X Food gathering is a great example of how we connect with friends in the community to reflect and look forward together. This is a particularly special conversation because Yen gave us the gift of understanding the word “market” in Art & Market as community, which Ivan and Adeline elaborated upon. I am grateful for these unexpected articulations of what A&M has created, and what more it can achieve. And I am positive we will go into our fifth year experimenting more boldly with the experiences that we have accumulated.

We would love to hear your feedback as we begin our fifth year as A&M. If you have a few minutes to spare, please share with us your thoughts on this Google Form. In return, we will send you a discount code to use on A&M Marketplace. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to sharing more content with you in the year to come.
